Royal Caribbean announces refurbishment of Liberty of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International has revealed details of the refurbishment of its vessel "Liberty of the Seas" showing lots of new and exciting aquatic based activities, new restaurants, children's areas and the addition of 26 new Panaoramic Ocean View staterooms. The new features will enhance Royal Caribbeans appeal to families and the young at heart.

Aquatic Features

The 3634 passenger ship will feature a collection of mind blowing waterslides nicknamed the "Perfect Storm" that include:

  • Two new racer slides called "Cyclone" and "Typhoon" located at the rear of the ship beside the "Flowrider" surf simulator.
  • A boomerang style slide called "Tidal Wave" which sends you into free fall by propelling you up from a near vertical wall where you will experience weightlessness before the drop.

A new adult free zone for children called "Splashaway Bay" will be an interactive play area with water cannons, geysers and more.

Renovated Dining

The new restaurants announced on the ship include:

  • Giovanni's Table
  • Sabor Modern Mexican
  • R-Bar

New Panoramic Ocean View Rooms

Renovations are not complete without some new and upgraded cabins with the announcement of 26 new Panoramic Ocean View staterooms. The rooms will feature unobstructed floor-to-ceiling glass walls providing Panoramic Ocean views. An additional 53 staterooms will also be refurbished throughout the ship.

Refurbishments will take approximately one month and occur during its dry dock of January 2016.

Liberty of the Seas will sail Western Caribbean itineraries from Texas (USA) starting November 2015. Destinations include such countries as Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Mexico, Honduras and Belize.
